ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Along the back wall of the Albany Common Council chambers in City Hall Monday night, several people held signs in support of the city adopting a ranked-choice voting format, along with a unified primary election.
So that we can come up with the best solution
Jack Flynn, ward eight common councilmember, introduced the legislation discussed at Monday night’s council meeting. This, according to Flynn, began the discussion on whether or not the city wants to adopt ranked-choice voting for the city in their primary and general elections.
“These are discussions that we’re going to have in our committee so that we can come up with the best solution and the best version for the city of Albany,” he said.
